Barossa Valley Vines

The best of the Barossa on show at the 2021 Vintage Festival

by Lizzie Taylor

The Barossa Valley Vintage Festival is a great opportunity to explore and since 1947 has been showcasing the best of what they can offer from the vines and local artisans and producers. As a history teacher I absolutely loved reading about how this festival began with 1940s haircuts, music and dancing and flowing wine to celebrate the end of World War II. I can just imagine the band!

With the Barossa Valley having some of the best vineyards in South Australia this is certainly a great way to see the best of what they have to offer. The Barossa Valley Vintage Festival offers long lunches, tastings, degustations as well as the opportunity to dabble as winemaker or distiller! There are also opportunities to get kids involved (school holidays) with the Barossa Made Markets which encourages local artists and producers to showcase their talents and musical events and dances.

Every time we venture out, we find the most wonderful hospitality and some brilliant drops. The Festival runs from the 14th to the 18th of April. We’ve added a few of our picks below but check out the full line up via the ticket link below!
