BACKGROUND
Sunlight Liquor is the creation of Tom O’Reilly (Loophole Brewing) and Eddy Collett. A company which has been created to produce ethical beverages from pure ingredients. For those who don’t know, mead is an alcoholic beverage made from honey, water and other flavour producing elements such as herbs, spices and hops. Where beer sources most of its fermentable sugars from malted barley, traditional mead is made from a majority of the sugars coming from honey.

My first taste of mead – a drink made with fermented honey. You can definitely smell and taste the honey in this creation. It’s the star of the show, along with the hops and a touch of sea salt. It’s perfectly balanced with both sweet and dry flavours, and the fact that it’s sparkling makes it even tastier. Highly recommend as a gluten free option!
