Pikes Beer Company gets a fresh new look!

Clare Valley’s independent craft brewery, Pikes Beer Company, is getting a fresh new look this year,
with a complete re-branding of their logo and beer labels.
The new logo and label have a clean and modern design, whilst continuing to pay homage to their
heritage with the inclusion of the English Pike fish, which was used on the first Pike’s products and
remains on all Pikes labels to this day.

The new logo was designed by Adelaide Brand Communication Agency, Fuller, with the can design by
Black Squid Graphic Design.

The complete re-branding coincides with the company’s decision to move their product from bottles
to cans, with the canning line due to be up and running by Mid-November 2020.
Sixth generation family member and Manager of Pikes Beer Co., Alister Pike, has said there are
multiple reasons for the move to cans, including quality, environment and logistics.

“There are a multitude of reasons for our switch, but beer quality and freshness are big ones. Having our product in cans will help preserve the beer the way we intend it to be, for longer. They are also more recyclable, and leave a smaller carbon footprint, which was of great importance to us when making the decision.

We are also increasing our individual unit size from 330ml to 375ml, but we will still be packing more volume into a more compact and lighter 6-pack or carton, so the benefits on freight costs and safe handling are huge. Our cans will take up less space in your fridges or esky, plus they will cool down faster!”

The core range of beers will continue to include a Pilsener, Pale Ale and Stout, while an IPA will
replace their Sparkling Ale. The selection of limited release beers will also continue throughout the

About Pikes Beer Co.

The Pike family first began brewing beer in South Australia in 1886, with the establishment of Pikes
Oakbank Brewery in the Adelaide Hills by family patriarch, Henry Pike, who emigrated from Dorset,
England in 1878.
Henry, alongside his son Walter, produced a range of fine ales, stout and tonic water for nearly 90
years, which he delivered throughout the Adelaide Hills area and beyond.
In 1996, the Pikes label was re-introduced by fifth generation descendant of Henry Pike, Andrew, of
Pikes Wines in the Clare Valley of South Australia.
The family’s brewing tradition continues firsthand to this day, with sixth generation family member,
Alister Pike, overseeing the brewery. First opened in December 2014, Pikes Beer Company is located
alongside the Pikes Wines Tasting Room and Slate Restaurant, on the family’s ‘Polish Hill River
