Floral as Hell is the latest gin release by Blend Etiquette, a relatively new distillery in SA which launched in 2016. You might have already tried Gin Pangolin, Blend Etiquette’s London-dry style gin with a social conscience, which raised awareness and funds for pangolin conservation.
You don’t need much more than the name to get a sense of the flavour profile of the Floral as Hell, with rosella, lily pily and lavender listed as the forefront botanicals. Orange citrus and raspberry also come through on the nose and palate, with the florals providing a delicate undertone that rounds it out nicely.
The Floral as Hell is a great choice for a refreshing G&T on these increasingly balmy spring nights. Serve this gin with tonic and mint and raspberries (or strawberries) as a garnish.
